A bear cub decided to help researchers in Minnesota by moving their trail camera. The results were “surprisingly good,” officials said.

The “chubby cubby” did some “strategic re-adjusting” of a trail camera at Voyageurs National Park in International Falls, the Voyageurs Wolf Project said in a Wednesday, Dec. 21 news release.

Video shows the cub approach the camera and move it with its nose. As a result, “the camera captured some very nice, close-up videos of wildlife,” the organization said.

In order of appearance, the animals in the video are: black bear and two cubs, wolf, bobcat, three more wolves, the same black bear and cubs, a fisher, coyote, another wolf, and a ruffled grouse, Voyageurs Wolf Project told McClatchy News.

Fishers are a “member of the weasel family that lives in northern Minnesota,” the organization said.

“That is funny, wonderful footage though, little chubby bear did a good job,” one person commented on Facebook.

“Perfect video with my coffee this morning,” another person commented.

The bear cub moved the trail camera in early September, the news release said. The footage in the video is from then until the end of October.

Voyageurs National Park is about 270 miles north of Minneapolis near the U.S.-Canada border.
