When Nicolas Houssini saw how much he won in the Virginia Lottery’s New Year’s Millionaire Raffle, the Uber driver already had an idea of what to do with part of his winnings.

“I love people,” the Blacksburg resident told lottery officials in a Jan. 18 news release. “I want to give back.”

Houssini won $100,000 in the New Year’s raffle, according to lottery officials.

He bought his lucky ticket at a 7-Eleven in Blacksburg, and now the driver plans to use some of it to feed people experiencing homelessness in his town, he told lottery officials.

There were seven $100,000 tickets in the raffle, according to the Virginia Lottery.

Blacksburg is about 40 miles west of Roanoke.
