A Missouri lottery player was scratching off her ticket when she thought she won a $100 prize.

But she actually had a much bigger win to celebrate.

After scratching her “$100,000 Fortune” Scratchers ticket, the woman figured out she mistook a comma for a period, according to an April 21 news release from the Missouri Lottery.

This meant she had actually won the game’s top $100,000 prize — and she realized it while talking to a friend on the phone, officials said.

“I just kept going ‘No, no way!’” the woman recalled while claiming her prize.

The winning $5 ticket was sold at Discount Smoke Shop in St. Louis.

Many people can gamble or play games of chance without harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that can ruin lives and families.

If you or a loved one shows signs of gambling addiction, you can seek help by calling the national gambling hotline at 1-800-522-4700 or visiting the National Council on Problem Gambling website.
