A lottery player in Iowa nearly threw her winning ticket away — but now she plans to start a business and go on a vacation.

Stacy Frisbey, of Waterloo, claimed her $100,000 prize on May 12, where she was presented with an oversized check.

“I was actually going to throw the ticket away because I didn’t think it was a winner,” Frisbey told Iowa Lottery officials when claiming her winnings.

Fortunately she held off and stopped at a shop for a sandwich, according to a news release from the Iowa Lottery. While at the store, she decided to scan her “Hit It Big!” scratch game ticket.

That’s when she realized she’d almost threw a winning ticket away by mistake, according to the release.

She bought her $10 scratch ticket at New Star convenience store in Waterloo.
