Riders dangle in midair as roller coaster evacuated, California video shows

A roller coaster at Knott’s Berry Farm had to be evacuated, briefly stranding riders high in the air, a video taken at the California amusement park showed.

No injuries were reported on the Silver Bullet coaster in the incident Friday, May 26, KTTV reported.

Videos posted to Twitter by visitors showed park workers evacuating riders from the roller coaster train one by one as it stands stopped on the lift hill high overhead.

“A guest indicated they wanted to get off the attraction, park personnel responded immediately, and all guests onboard exited safely following standard exiting procedure,” a Knott’s Berry Farm spokesperson told KTLA.

The ride began running again 30 minutes later, the park said, according to the outlet.

Silver Bullet, an inverted suspension coaster, opened at the park in 2004. It reaches heights up to 146 feet and speeds up to 55 mph, according to the park.

Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, south of Los Angeles, opened more than 100 years ago and grew into one of the state’s first theme parks.
