A Missouri woman bought a $3 lottery ticket while at QuikTrip, then she waited until she was at work to see if she’d won.

As she was scratching her “Fruit Loot” ticket, she quickly realized she had won a prize, according to a June 21 news release from the Missouri Lottery.

“At first I thought it was just a $50 winner, but when I kept scratching, there were just more zeros!” the lottery player, who chose to remain anonymous, said.

She actually won the game’s top prize of $50,000.

And in her shock, she gave her co-workers a scare, according to the release.

“They thought I needed an ambulance!” the woman recalled to lottery officials. “I just kept trying to tell them that I won, but the words wouldn’t come out.”

Her colleagues eventually realized what had her so excited.

“Everyone knew within like five minutes and were so happy for me!” the woman said when claiming her prize. “You want to talk about a shock!”

The winning ticket was sold in St. Louis.
