Greg Escue said he was scrolling through the results of the nightly Fantasy 5 drawing when he saw someone had won the jackpot prize.

“I got out of bed to get my tickets and they were nowhere to be found,” the 66-year-old Davison man told Michigan Lottery officials.

He searched high and low for his lottery tickets, according to a July 20 news release.

“I finally went out to my car, and there they were,” Escue told lottery officials. “Once I got back inside, I went through the tickets one-by-one, line-by-line. As soon as I saw five matching numbers, I had the craziest feeling. I was so excited, I thought I was having a heart attack!”

Escue was one of two lottery players who matched the five winning numbers — 19-24-29-33-34 — during the July 9 drawing, according to the release. He and the other player each won $192,901.

Escue plans to use his prize money to go on a vacation and save, officials said.

He bought his $1 winning ticket at a Kroger gas station in Davison, about 10 miles east of Flint.
