Missing teacher found dead days later in truck at bottom of lake, Montana officials say

A missing woman in Montana was found dead after officials discovered her vehicle submerged in a lake.
Beverly Parker Perez, 64, was reported missing after she was last seen on Friday, Nov. 3, according to family members.
On Nov. 8, officials with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office located her Honda Ridgeline 12 feet under water in Savage Lake, just south of Troy, according to a news release.
Divers found a woman inside the truck later identified as Perez, the release said.
“My world will never be the same again, without my lovely wife Beverly, I will miss her a lot,” Perez’s husband wrote on Facebook.
Perez was a teacher at Libby Public Schools, according to the district’s website.
“You impacted the young lives of many! You loved my son being in your class and always took the time to talk to me about life and how much you missed having him in class. I pray for peace for your family and answers to be at peace with,” one Facebook user wrote.
Perez was believed to have been driving from Libby toward Troy when she went missing, family said.
“It’s a really terrible, horrible situation. I’ve been in schools since 1994 and I’ve never heard of such a thing with an educator. It’s incredibly unusual,” Libby Schools Superintendent Ron Goodman told The Western News.
The Montana Highway Patrol is investigating.
Troy is about 180 miles Northwest of Missoula.
