A Missouri couple was shocked to find out the lottery prize they won was much bigger than what they expected.
The couple played Show Me Cash in Versailles and realized they won, a Jan. 9 Missouri Lottery news release said.
“We thought it was $30,000 and were happy with that!” they told lottery officials.
But they had actually won a lot more.
When they went to the lottery headquarters, they were shocked to find out they actually won the $130,000 jackpot, according to the lottery.
“It was a good surprise,” they said.
Show Me Cash is drawn daily and the jackpots start at $50,000 and grow until won. The couple’s winning numbers on Dec. 15 were 2, 3, 8, 25 and 38.
Versailles is about 170 miles west of St. Louis.
