‘Unadulterated chaos.’ See why house for sale in Indiana has folks losing their minds
There are a few things that are certain in life: Death, taxes and Zillow Gone Wild featuring the most bizarre houses in existence.
And this one for sale in Zionsville, Indiana, might take the cake.
Fans of the popular Facebook page and X (formerly Twitter) account are reeling over this five-bedroom, 6.5-plus -bathroom — that’s listed for $2.99 million — because the interior is nothing that anyone would expect.
Seriously.
“Located in an exclusive gated community for extra privacy, this modern farmhouse at its absolute best!” the listing on Zillow says. “Originally a barn that has been converted to a stunning cozy home perfect for entertaining or relaxing w/family. Garage has 9+ spaces for car enthusiasts or desired workspace. Over 10, 000sq ft of meticulous luxury living in Carmel.”
Flipping through photos of the home’s nearly 10,000-square-foot interior, one can see a massive family room with a photo of a city scape on the main wall that stretches from the ground to the second story ceiling, an elevator that looks like a pneumatic tube system, a picture of a massive swordfish and then multiple doors that open up to ... a basketball court.
With carpeting.
Other features, per the listing, include:
Gourmet kitchen
“Wood coffered ceiling”
Sliding glass doors
Gas firepit
Separate apartment
Theater
Not to mention a primary bathroom that has a very small tub.
People on Zillow Gone Wild were flummoxed to say the least.
“Of course, a basketball court with red carpeting and its own nosebleed viewing section above,” one person on Facebook said. “The department store stairway look is interesting too, although I don’t know why they didn’t complete the experience by making those full escalators.”
“Sooo...playing basketball on carpet is the thing to do now,” another said.
“From what I’ve seen in other houses, this isn’t that bad. Ok, so the basketball hoop in the lounge is questionable and so is the red carpet, but they’re minor things that can be changed,” someone observed.
“I’m kinda digging it!” one person expressed.
“The unadulterated chaos of a carpeted basketball court right next to a huge hardwood floor living room,” another posted on X.
Zionsville is about a 20-mile drive northwest of Indianapolis.
