Driver forgets to pump gas after SC lottery prize leaves her ‘completely numb’
A South Carolina woman stopped for gas and left with a life-changing lottery prize.
The Scranton woman could hardly believe her eyes when she scratched a Wild Cash Multiplier Extra Play game to reveal a $300,000 grand prize, according to an Aug. 26 news release from the South Carolina Education Lottery.
“I was completely numb, confused and relieved,” the lucky winner told officials.
She said she hurried home so fast that she forgot to pump her gas — which she had paid for.
A store clerk confirmed her win and advised her to “get in your car and drive out of this parking lot,” she told officials.
The lucky winner beat odds of 1 in 740,000 to hit the game’s $300,000 jackpot, with three remaining prizes still up for grabs, according to the South Carolina Education Lottery.
She said plans to use her winnings to renovate her home.
Scranton is about a 60-mile drive northwest from Myrtle Beach.
