Taco Bell brings back fan favorite after nearly a year. Here’s when and what to know
A Taco Bell fan favorite was missing from menus for nearly a year.
Now, it’s back — but not for long.
The Double Decker taco was available as of Oct. 10 at participating Taco Bell restaurants nationwide, according to the California-based fast-food chain.
For $2, customers get a crispy taco shell filled with “seasoned beef, shredded lettuce and cheddar cheese,” a product description reads. It’s then wrapped in a soft flour tortilla filled with refried beans.
Double Decker tacos debuted in 1995 and have made regular appearances on the menu in the years since, USA TODAY reported.
The fan favorite was was last offered in December 2023, a Taco Bell spokesperson told McClatchy News. This time around, fans have until Oct. 31 before they leave menus again.
It’s not the only new offering coming to Taco Bell.
On Oct. 9, the chain announced it was testing Chicken Al Pastor Street Chalupas for a limited time at select restaurants in Minneapolis.
The tacos, made with Cantina slow-roasted chicken wrapped in two cheesy chalupa-like shells and topped with onions and cilantro, will be available starting Thursday, Oct. 31, Taco Bell said.
