Lucky lottery player wins $1 million prize in Florida. Where was the ticket sold?
A lucky lottery player won a life-changing prize from a scratch-off game in Florida, lottery officials said.
Clifford Rogers of Orlando claimed a $1 million prize from the $1,000,000 A YEAR FOR LIFE SPECTACULAR Scratch-Off game, the Florida Lottery said in an Oct. 11 news release.
The winning ticket came from a Circle K convenience store on South Ferncreek Avenue in Orlando, the release said.
Rogers took his winnings home as a one-time lump-sum payment of $640,000. Officials said the Circle K location received a $2,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
The odds of winning a $1 million prize are 1 in 185,709. The game costs $50 to play.
As of Oct. 15, one of two $1 million-per-year top prizes remain unclaimed and 87 of 234 $1 million prizes remain unclaimed, officials said.
