Charlie Brown ‘Great Pumpkin’ special won’t air on TV this year. How to stream for free
If the “Peanuts” classics are a must-watch for your family during the holidays, you won’t want to miss the Halloween special when it streams for free this weekend.
Fans can watch “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” on Saturday, Oct. 19, and Sunday, Oct. 20, on Apple TV+, according to the streaming platform.
The beloved holiday special first aired on CBS in October 1966, Vulture reported.
“Join the Peanuts gang for a timeless adventure as Charlie Brown preps for a party, Snoopy sets his sights on the Red Baron and Linus patiently awaits a pumpkin patch miracle,” a synopsis reads.
This marks the third year that the “Great Pumpkin” and other “Peanuts” holiday classics won’t air on network TV. The beloved specials found a new home on Apple TV+ in 2020, two years after the platform bought the rights to them, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Each year, the cartoons are made available to non-subscribers for a few days, usually around the holidays. Subscribers can stream the specials anytime.
“Peanuts” fans can stream “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” for free Saturday, Nov. 23, and Sunday, Nov. 24, Apple TV+ said in a news release.
“A Charlie Brown Christmas” will be free to stream Saturday, Dec. 14, and Sunday, Dec. 15, according to the streaming platform.
