A lost mushroom hunter had to spend the night in a cold, dense forest as rescuers searched for her in Oregon, deputies said.

The 43-year-old woman was looking for mushrooms with her significant other on Oct. 29 near Reedsport, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post.

Reedsport is near the Oregon coast.

The couple planned to be out for a few hours, deputies said.

At one point, they split up to forage for fungi and made plans to meet up at the car, deputies said.

But the woman never made it back.

At about 5 p.m., her partner reported her missing, deputies said.

Search teams spread out to find her. An aircraft and drone were also used, but rescuers didn’t have any luck finding her, deputies said.

More rescue efforts started the next day at about 7 a.m.

The missing mushroom picker was found injured, wet and cold close to 9:15 a.m., deputies said.

Rescuers gave her food and hot tea before helping her out of the wilderness.
