Powerball player wins $160,000 prize in California. Where was the lucky ticket sold?
A Powerball ticket sold in California won $161,556 but just missed the $65 million jackpot, lottery officials say.
The ticket matched five winning numbers but not the Powerball in the drawing Monday, Nov. 4, the California Lottery said.
California adjusts lottery prizes based on the number of tickets sold and the number of winners.
Nobody won the grand prize, which rises to an estimated $75 million, with a cash value of $35.4 million, for the next drawing Wednesday, Nov. 6, the national Powerball site said.
The winning numbers were 6, 18, 33, 48 and 53, with a Powerball of 21, the lottery said. The Power Play was 10x.
The winning California ticket was sold at Teddy’s Liquor Store and Market in Los Angeles, the lottery said.
More than 274,000 other Powerball tickets sold in the United States also won prizes ranging from $4 to $500,000, the lottery said.
The Powerball jackpot has gone unclaimed since Oct. 23, when a Georgia player won the $478 million grand prize, lottery officials said.
