Lottery player snags multi-million dollar win in Florida. Where was the ticket sold?
A lucky player claimed a massive lottery jackpot — worth multi-million dollars, Florida lottery officials said.
Leon Strachan, of Nassau, New Providence, in the Bahamas, won $20.5 million in an Aug. 7 lottery drawing, the Florida Lottery said in a Nov. 15 news release.
The winning numbers were 10, 11, 14, 17, 39 and 49, per the lottery’s website.
The winning ticket was purchased from a Murphy USA gas station in Kissimmee, about a 20-mile drive south of Orlando, according to the release.
The gas station also received a bonus commission of $100,000 for selling the lucky ticket.
Strachan took his winnings home as a one-time, lump-sum of $11,826,169, per the release.
The lottery jackpot drawing in Florida is currently an estimated $24 million, and the next drawing will happen Nov. 16.
