Driver trusts GPS — and ends up stuck in snow on ski run, Colorado cops say

A driver following GPS directions wound up stuck in the snow — on a ski run, Colorado authorities and news outlets reported.

“Not our everyday illegal parking call,” the Summit County Sheriff’s Office said in a Jan. 6 Facebook post with photos of the stranded car.

The driver was trying to reach the employee housing parking lot at Keystone Resort when GPS directed them up a ski run, deputies told KDVR.

The tires broke through the crust, leaving the car stuck in the snow near the bottom of the run, KCNC said.

The driver abandoned the car and left a note explaining the mishap, deputies told The Aspen Times. The sheriff’s office did not cite or tow the vehicle since it was on resort property.

Keystone Resort officials told KDVR that workers fenced off the car to protect skiers and it was later removed. No damage was caused to the resort.

Keystone is about a 75-mile drive southwest from Denver.
