Man goes 1,200 miles for illicit acts with 15-year-old he met on TikTok, Virginia cops say
A 30-year-old man was arrested after being accused of traveling 1,200 miles to meet with a teen he met on TikTok, Virginia police said.
On Jan. 25, a dad called to report that a man, later identified as Trent Fair of Minnesota, was with his 15-year-old child in a home, according to a news release by the Fairfax County Police Department.
Fair had met the teen on TikTok and planned to travel from Minnesota to Virginia to engage in illicit acts, officers said.
He was arrested and charged with solicitation of a minor, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and production of child sexual abuse material, police said.
He’s being held without bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, officers said.
Officers urge parents to closely monitor their child’s online presence and use any security settings to prevent inappropriate usage of sites or platforms.
Anyone with information is asked to call 703-246-7800, police said.
Fairfax County is about a 90-mile drive northeast of Richmond.
