‘Horse’ seen running wild on I-95 in Florida was actually a far more ‘stubborn’ animal
An animal seen running along Interstate 95 in Florida was assumed to be a horse — but it turned out to be a much more stubborn creature that hid from deputies in the bushes.
Several residents called the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office about a horse “running wild” on the highway, the agency said in a March 3 post on Facebook.
“Deputies arrived on scene, but initially did not see anything on the road,” the agency said. “Then after assessing the area, they located him hiding in the bushes and of course discovered that he wasn’t a horse but instead a donkey!!”
Deputies kept an eye on Clyde the donkey while they waited for Ag Marine Units and Florida Highway Patrol to arrive, the agency said. Photos show the brown donkey standing in the overgrown brush along the highway as a deputy tries to nab him with a rope.
“The tail tuck has me laughing,” someone said in comments on the photo. “So displeased with being caught.”
“As they moved closer to Clyde, he continued to be stubborn and refused to follow their commands, but after some sweet talking they were able to get him secured,” the agency said. “I can only assume what they promised him out there in the woods, but whatever it was, it worked to get this escapee back where he belonged! …And to Clyde…stay wild!”
