Woman shoots husband dead in bed, then tries to kill son at work, PA cops say
A Pennsylvania woman has been found dead after police say she shot her husband to death, then tried to kill her son, officials say.
An investigation began at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 10, with a 911 call in Upper Dublin, a Philadelphia-area suburb, the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office said in a May 11 news release.
The caller told officers he was at his FedEx warehouse job when his mother, 57-year-old Tonya Dupree, “called him out of work and pointed a gun to his head in her vehicle,” the DA’s office said.
Dupree’s adult son wrestled the gun away from her and she fled the scene, according to officials.
Less than an hour later, police searched Dupree’s home in King of Prussia and found her husband, 62-year-old Robert Dupree Sr., shot dead in bed. Then at 11:30 a.m., police found Tonya Dupree dead, officials said.
Police are investigating the incidents as an attempted murder and a murder-suicide, according to officials.
Investigators have not said what may have motivated the violence.
King of Prussia is a roughly 20-mile drive northwest from downtown Philadelphia.
