Woman’s $5,000 lottery prize was ‘just a warmup’ for next big win in Virginia
A Virginia lottery player won twice in one month, but her first prize of $5,000 was “just a warmup” for her next big win, lottery officials said.
“My cheeks are hurting because I can’t stop smiling,” Angie Crutchley, fresh off a winning streak, told the Virginia Lottery in a June 12 news release.
Crutchley’s second win in May was $150,000 in the Virginia Cash Expander online game, lottery officials said.
When she learned of her win, she drove to her mom’s house to tell her the good news, but her mom thought it was a scam, she told the lottery.
“It was a good month!” Crutchley said to lottery officials.
The Virginia Cash Expander cost between 50 cents and $50 to play and features a top prize worth $250,000, according to the game’s web page.
The overall odds of winning are 1 in 4.7, and the odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 2,000,000, according to the lottery.
