McDonald’s new Happy Meal comes with nostalgic tiny toy. When can you get it?
McDonald’s new Happy Meal is a nod to childhood nostalgia.
The Lil McDonald’s Happy Meal hits menus Tuesday, July 1, and features one of 21 tiny toys “inspired by what families see at our restaurants,” the burger chain said in a news release.
Young fans can play pretend with the pocket-sized figurines, which include a miniature McDonald’s sign, Boo Bucket, burger grill and more.
“As a parent, there’s something magical about watching your child’s imagination come to life with these tiny toys,” Anna Engel, director of marketing, brand, content and culture for McDonald’s USA, said in the release.
“That’s what makes Lil McDonald’s so special.”
Beyond the toy, each Happy Meal comes with customers’ choice of hamburger, 4-count or 6-count chicken McNuggets, according to McDonald’s website. The meal also includes a kid’s fry, apple slices and a choice of beverage to wash it all down.
Pricing varies by location.
It’s the fast-food chain’s latest spin on the classic kid’s meal, which debuted nationwide in the summer of 1979, the Chicago Tribune reported in 2019. The early circus wagon boxes hid toys like stencils, puzzles and tops.
“Thanks to the Happy Meal, most adults associate McDonald’s with special childhood memories,” Silvia Lagnado, then-global chief marketing officer for McDonald’s, told the newspaper at the time.
The new Lil McDonald’s Happy Meal is the newest offering set to land on the fast-food giant’s summer menu.
The campfire-inspired Hershey’s s’mores McFlurry launched in early June, and fans are eagerly awaiting the return of the beloved snack wrap, arriving Thursday, July 10, McClatchy News reported.
McDonald’s said the Lil McDonald’s Happy Meal will be available at participating restaurants, while supplies last.
