Photos from Washington after reports of shooting at dinner attended by Trump
By Scott Sharpe and The New York Times
President Donald Trump was rushed out of the White House correspondents’ dinner Saturday night after reports of gunfire.
A suspect was stopped at a security perimeter and taken into custody, Trump said.
Details are still scarce about what happened. The New York Times reported that the White House press pool — a group of reporters who travel with the president — reported that a member of the Secret Service shouted, “Shots fired.”
Agents with guns drawn sprinted through the aisles to reach the president and swarmed the hallways and banquet room.
Here are photos from the scene.
