Newly released 911 audio from West Wilson's cousin Dakota Sweeney's arrestreveals the moments police arrived on scene after he allegedly murdered his grandmother Gayle Wilson.

"Possible shooting, stand by," a first responder said during a call obtained by TMZ on Wednesday, April 29. "What we're hearing is that it's possible [the] subject shot his mother-in-law. … We do not know, we were on the phone with a third person who was not there, and he disconnected the call."

Us Weekly confirmed earlier on Wednesday that Sweeney, 28, was arrested for murder in the first degree and armed criminal action on April 22 in Carroll County, Missouri.

"On April 22, 2026, at approximately 22:25 hours, Carroll County law enforcement officials were notified of a homicide," a probable cause statement obtained by Us read. "Carroll County Deputy Snyder arrived at the residence a few minutes later where he located [the victim] deceased inside the residence."

The police report indicated that Sweeney and his grandfather Roger Wilson were present when law enforcement arrived on the scene, pronouncing Gayledead shortly after. She was 75. Roger told authorities that Sweeney allegedly shot Gayle with a handgun "without warning."

"According to [the] witness, earlier in the evening, Sweeney and [the] victim had been in a disagreement about Sweeney not assisting with chores around the residence," the statement read.

Sweeney was taken into custody that same day, where he is being held without bail. (Us reached out to Sweeney's public defender for comment.)

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is currently investigating the incident.

"At the request of the Carrollton, MO Police Department, the Missouri State Highway Patrol's Division of Drug and Crime Control is investigating a homicide which occurred on Wednesday, April 22, 2026," a statement shared the next day read. "Sweeney is being held in the Caldwell County Jail on a no-bond warrant."

The statement continued, "These charges are a mere accusation and not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of these charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence."

Gayle is survived by Roger, her husband of 50 years, and their four children and seven grandchildren.

"Gayle lived a life marked by creativity, kindness and cherished moments. She was more than her job titles; Gayle was an artist at heart," an obituary reads. "Known for her quilting every Thursday with her church friends, Gayle was accomplished in sewing, embroidery, and even the delicate art of stained glass, with pieces featured in a Nevada casino. Her talents extended to photography and rendering stunning images in charcoal and pencil."

West, 31, has not publicly addressed his grandmother's death. He lives in New York City, where he stars on Bravo's Summer House.
