German exports rise unexpectedly in March

German exports rose unexpectedly by 0.5% in March compared with the previous month, data from the federal statistics office showed on Friday.

The result compares with a forecast 1.7% decrease in a Reuters poll.

The statistics office publishes more detailed economic data on its website.
