NC appeals court rules in Jefferson Griffin’s favor. Read the decision and the dissent.

Nearly five months after the 2024 elections, Republican Jefferson Griffin continues to contest his narrow loss in the North Carolina Supreme Court race by challenging over 65,000 ballots.

On Friday, a panel of judges on the state Court of Appeals ruled in his favor, giving most of the affected voters 15 days to either prove their eligibility or have their votes discarded.

The panel’s two Republicans made up the majority, while Democratic Judge Toby Hampson dissented.

The decision is likely to be appealed and could be halted before the cure period goes into effect.
