Pittsboro’s former mayor will replace her replacement. New member joins town board.

Voters on Tuesday helped a former Pittsboro mayor defeat the man who filled her seat when she stepped down in 2019.

A challenger also joined an incumbent commissioner on the Pittsboro Town Board, according to unofficial results posted on the state Board of Elections website.

Former Mayor Cindy Perry, who served as the town’s mayor from 2015 to 2019, had 65.12% of the vote, compared to 34.31% for incumbent Mayor James Nass.

Neither candidate responded to The News & Observer’s campaign questionnaire this year.

In the Town Board race, incumbent Commissioner Pamela Baldwin and challenger James Voss defeated incumbent Commissioner Michael Fiocco for the two open seats on the Pittsboro Board of Commissioners.

The final vote, with a single precinct reporting, was:

Pamela Baldwin: 36.38%

James Vose: 36.25%

Michael Fiocco: 25.89%
