Dave Matthews is coming to Raleigh to help turn out Democratic voters.

The North Carolina Democratic Party is hosting a get-out-the-vote concert with the singer-songwriter on Tuesday, Oct. 25 at The Ritz.

The free event is 6:30 to 9 p.m. and is being held in support of the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate, Cheri Beasley, and other North Carolina Democrats on the ballot in the Nov. 8 midterm elections.

Former state Supreme Court Chief Justice Beasley and Republican three-term U.S. Rep. Ted Budd are vying for the seat of Republican Sen. Richard Burr, who didn’t run for a fourth term.

Beasley and Democratic National Committee Chair Jaime Harrison will attend the concert, according to a Twitter post by the Dave Matthews Band.

The DNC is the national governing body of the Democratic Party.

Signup for the event is available at the website ncdp.org/dave.

Matthews is the lead vocalist, songwriter, and guitarist for the Dave Matthews Band, known for songs like “So Much to Say,” “Crash into Me” and “The Space Between.”

The band has been involved in initiatives such as COVID-19 relief, social justice and voter registration, according to the band’s website. Matthews performed with guitarist Tim Reynolds in Raleigh in September for FarmAid, which raises awareness of and funding for farmers and the agriculture industry.

The band will headline another “Get out the Vote” political event hosted by Democrats in support of their candidate for Senate in Ohio, Tim Ryan.

Early, in-person voting starts Thursday, Oct. 20, in North Carolina, and runs until Nov. 5.
