Polls have closed in NC. See live election results for North Carolina races
Polling locations have closed in most of North Carolina. It’s time for the results.
Here are early, unofficial election results for North Carolina and for Wake, Durham and Orange counties, according to the State Board of Elections.
While polls close at 7:30 p.m., complete results won’t be available right away. Results from mail ballots can be reported quickly. In-person early voting results may not be public until about 8 p.m., due to a new law that requires those results not be tabulated prior to polls closing on Election Day.
Finally, Election Day votes should be released starting at around 8:30 p.m. The bulk of Election Night results will come in between 9:30 and 11 p.m., according to Karen Brinson Bell, the executive director of the State Board of Elections. About 98% of all ballots cast in the state should be reported by the end of the night, she said.
