Vice President Kamala Harris will return to Charlotte in the final days of the 2024 election cycle for a rally featuring celebrity guests.

Texts messages received by North Carolina voters and an online event listing show the Democratic presidential hopeful will hold a rally in Charlotte Saturday. Mecklenburg County Democratic Party Chairman Drew Kromer and a Harris campaign spokesperson confirmed the event.

Harris will be joined by actress Kerry Washington, and the rally will feature performances by Jon Bon Jovi and Khalid, according to a Thursday campaign announcement. Brittney Spencer and The War And Treaty will also perform.

The location of the rally hasn’t been announced, but it will be in the evening, the campaign said.

Saturday is the final day of in-person early voting in North Carolina. More than 3.1 million have already voted across the state, according to the State Board of Elections. In Mecklenburg County, 337,016 people have voted early in person or sent in absentee ballots, according to the county Board of Elections.

Harris last visited Charlotte in early October, when she met with state and local officials about the response to Hurricane Helene. Her last rally in the city was in September at Bojangles Coliseum.

Both presidential campaigns are staying active in North Carolina in the final full week of the race.

Harris will rally voters in Raleigh Wednesday, and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, is scheduled to campaign in Charlotte and Asheville.

Former President Donald Trump, the Republican nominee for president, is slated to hold his own rally in Rocky Mount Wednesday.

The latest polls show a tight race in North Carolina.

An Elon University poll released Tuesday has the presidential contest tied, with Harris and Trump each getting support from 46% of respondents. A WRAL poll also released Tuesday showed the race tied at 47%, with 2% of respondents saying they plan to vote for a third-party candidate and 4% undecided.
