Former GOP official joins lobbying firm

A former official in the North Carolina Republican Party who worked as a lobbyist this past session is changing firms.

Jillian DeCamp Totman, who was political director for the state party in 2008 and 2009, is moving from Poyner Spruill to McGuireWoods Consulting.

“As the political landscape in North Carolina changes with the new administration, Jillian’s addition should only help our team to better serve our public policy clients,” Harry Kaplan, director of government relations, said in a news release the company sent out Monday.

Totman, who obtained a law degree from Campbell University in 2012, will also be an attorney with McGuireWoods’ law firm. She earned a bachelor’s degree from N.C. State University in 2007.

She worked on Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign in 2012.
