Former U.S. Rep. Mike McIntyre joins law firm

The Poyner Spruill law firm on Monday announced its newest member: former U.S. Rep. Mike McIntyre.

The former North Carolina 7th Congressional District representative will focus on government relations and economic development, according to a statement from the firm.

McIntyre worked as a private attorney in North Carolina for 15 years and managed his own firm before being elected to Congress in 1996, where he served nine consecutive terms.

“Congressman McIntyre brings a deep knowledge of local, state and federal issues and a proven ability to work across political lines,” managing partner Joseph B. Dempster Jr. said in a statement. “His experience with agriculture, military, health care, coastal, business and economic development issues will be a tremendous asset for our clients, and we are delighted to have him join the firm.”
