Wake County District Court Judge Vince Rozier announced Monday he will run for the N.C. Court of Appeals seat now held by Judge Richard Dietz.
Rozier was first appointed to the district court bench in 2006. He lost a subsequent election, and was reappointed five months later. He ran unopposed last year.
Rozier said in a statement that it’s important to have judges with trial court experience on the appellate court.
Gov. Pat McCrory appointed Dietz to the bench last year. Dietz must stand for election next year.
