Costco announces recall of Kool-Aid that might have metal or glass in the powder

Neither metal nor glass are among the many Kool-Aid flavors, which is why KraftHeinz made a not-food-in-your-food recall of some cans of Tropical Punch Kool-Aid.

A notice for Costco customers said 82.5-ounce cans of the popular drink powder with best by dates of Aug. 31, 2023, and Sept. 1, 2023, were recalled because they might have “very small pieces of metal or glass.”

While the notice says “KraftHeinz and the FDA” announced the recall, the notice doesn’t appear on the FDA website yet, nor is it on the Kool-Aid website.

If you have the recalled cans, return them to the store for a full refund. If you have questions, call KraftHeinz at 855-713-9237, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Eastern time.
