Couple using heroin outside Waffle House is charged with child abuse, NC cops say
A North Carolina couple is charged after cops say they were using heroin outside a Waffle House in front of a child.
Deputies with the Craven County Sheriff’s Office were called to a Waffle House in New Bern on Saturday about a suspicious vehicle, the Sheriff’s Office said on Facebook.
When they got there, deputies say they found Ashley Frost, 39, and Lisa Partington, 38, using heroin while a “small child” was in the car, the Sheriff’s Office says.
Both are charged with child abuse, felony possession of heroin, possession of a schedule III controlled substance, two counts of possession of a schedule IV controlled substance and three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
They’re being held in Craven County Confinement Facility, the Sheriff’s Office says, and the Department of Social Services has been contacted.
New Bern is about 115 miles east of Raleigh.
