Shotgun-wielding dad chases his daughter’s boyfriend into the woods, NC cops say

A 61-year-old man in North Carolina used a shotgun to run off his daughter’s boyfriend, the sheriff’s office said.

Now he’s in jail on a $100,000 bond.

Grady Zack Dunn was arrested Tuesday and charged with first-degree burglary and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, jail records show.

Dunn showed up at a house in Mebane, about 45 miles west of Raleigh, late Monday night, the Burlington Times-News reported.

His daughter met him on the porch — then he started yelling, according to CBS 17.

Citing the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office, the media outlet reported Dunn fired off a shot before forcing his way in the back door.

The daughter’s boyfriend told 911 operators he then fled through the front door and headed into the woods, according to the Mebane Enterprise.

“The caller stated he heard 2 more shots as he was running through the woods,” the newspaper reported. “There were no injuries.”

Deputies detained Dunn in the area a short time later, according to Fox 8. He was carrying a Remington Sportsman 48 16-gauge shotgun.
