Man arrested for kidnapping mother, baby at gunpoint in NC. Both found safe, police say

Police arrested a man they say kidnapped a mother and her infant son from a home in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

The woman and her 1-month-old were found safe Monday morning.

Jasmine Livermore and the child were taken during a home invasion early Monday, police said. Officers got the call at about 1:15 a.m.

Police believe 24-year-old Wani Thomas forced the mother and baby into a car at gunpoint. Authorities did not say if there’s a relationship between Thomas and the victims.

During the manhunt, police warned the suspect was “considered armed and dangerous.”
