Suspect out on bond kills woman he was accused of stalking, North Carolina police say
A suspect accused of stalking a North Carolina woman killed her while he was out on bond, officials say.
Brooklyn Williams, 23, was found dead Tuesday after she was likely shot, the High Point Police Department said in a news release.
The accused gunman, 27-year-old Andre Cousiamono, is believed to have killed himself, according to the release.
Police say they started investigating the apparent murder-suicide after responding to a High Point home on Tuesday afternoon. Neighbors heard gunshots that morning, and someone reported that two possible bodies were on the porch.
A loaded handgun magazine was found in Cousiamono’s pocket, and a holster was found in a car linked to him, cops say. They belonged to a gun found on the porch, according to police.
Officers say Cousiamono and Williams were previously co-workers and friends but hadn’t dated.
Cousiamono on Aug. 21 was arrested on warrants for “Felony Stalking and Cyberstalking and was out on a $15,000 bond,” the news release said. He had a court date set for December, state records show.
The charges Cousiamono faced “were from incidents that occurred in January 2020 where Williams was the victim,” police said in their news release. “Cousiamono also had pending charges of Misdemeanor Stalking, Communicating Threats, and Harassing Phone Calls charges where Williams was the victim from January 2020.”
