A “super sweet” dog keeps landing back at a North Carolina shelter — and she still needs a home.

“Dash has now been in and out of our shelter for almost a year,” the Yancey County Humane Society wrote May 14 on Facebook. “335 days ago she entered our system and has been adopted and returned multiple times.”

Though the humane society didn’t say how Dash first ended up in its care, the pup’s recent owners have surrendered her for several reasons, including “not having enough time for a dog” and Dash having “too much energy.”

“One thing in common is that each person said Dash was a super sweet dog and being returned due to no fault of her own,” the shelter wrote.

Dash is described as a “strong but gentle” 7- or 8-year-old mixed-breed pup. She’s also friendly, “goofy” and enjoys playing, according to a social media post and an online adoption profile on Petfinder.

“She’s ‘high energy’ to an extent but once she’s able to go on a hike or have some time to run around and play she’s a chill gal,” the shelter wrote.

As of May 16, the Petfinder website showed that Dash still was in need of a home. More details about the humane society’s adoption process can be found at yanceyhumanesociety.org.

“Dash is longing for her family to find her and she is patiently waiting,” the shelter wrote, adding that if her “face doesn’t pull you in, then surely the ears will!”

The Yancey County Humane Society is in Burnsville, a roughly 35-mile drive northeast from the popular mountain destination of Asheville.
