Update: This story has been updated to correct information from the N.C. Education Lottery.
A $390,000 lottery prize capped a weekend of big wins across North Carolina.
The lottery player bought a Lucky for Life game ticket that matched all but one number picked in the drawing Sunday, July 14. The ticket was worth $25,000 a year for life, a prize that totals $390,000 if taken as a lump sum, according to drawing results and game rules. Lottery officials had previously told McClatchy News that the prize would total $500,000.
The winning ticket was sold online in Leland, west of Wilmington, an N.C. Education Lottery spokesperson told McClatchy News via email.
The winner joins other North Carolina lottery players who scored $110,000 on Friday and $100,000 on Saturday. Here’s a roundup of the results:
$110,000 Cash 5 ticket sold at Whiteys Country Store in Fuquay-Varina
- $100,000 Powerball ticket sold at Jack B Quick in the Hickory area
North Carolina gives drawing game winners about six months to cash in. As of 11 a.m. July 15, all of the weekend’s six-figure prizes remained unclaimed, officials said.
Here are the winning numbers in the recent drawings:
- Lucky for Life drawing: 9-13-16-20-23, with gold Lucky Ball 11
- Cash 5 drawing: 10-19-29-31-40
- Powerball drawing: white balls 9-55-59-66-69, with red Powerball 21
