A playful dog was rescued from the roadside — and now, the “social butterfly” needs a new home.

“This 50-pound mixed-breed beauty was found as a stray along the interstate, but you’d never guess her rough start — her sweet and gentle soul shines brighter than the sun,” a North Carolina animal shelter wrote Jan. 14 on Facebook. “Priscilla is a lovable sidekick who dreams of finding a furever family to share her endless affection and goofy antics with.”

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) of the Triad didn’t say how long Priscilla has been up for adoption. But the dog has become known for her friendliness, making the facility believe she would have no trouble fitting into a family environment.

“Priscilla is a social butterfly who thrives in playgroup settings, where she makes fast friends with both doggies and humans alike,” the Greensboro-based shelter wrote. “She’s an expert with children and loves nothing more than soaking up affection from little ones. She is so gentle!”

Priscilla is described as a 1-year-old pup with soft fur and a “heart as big as her sweet nature.” While she has a playful side, she also enjoys snuggling after her adventures.

“If you are searching for a lovable girl to complete your family, look no further than Priscilla,” the shelter wrote. “She’s a fun, goofy pup who lives for running, playing, and cuddling.”

As of Jan. 15, the shelter’s website still listed Priscilla among the animals waiting for new owners. Details about the facility’s adoption process can be found at triadspca.org.

The SPCA of the Triad didn’t immediately share additional information with McClatchy News on Jan. 15.
