A 2 a.m. brawl between opposing groups of teens ended with three “juveniles” stabbed, according to investigators in eastern North Carolina.

It happened Sunday on Cotanche Street in Greenville’s Uptown District, and all three juveniles are expected to recover, Greenville police said in an April 19 news release.

Two of the three are 16, and the third is “under the age of 18,” police said.

“Detectives are still working to determine who was in possession of a weapon and to identify everyone involved,” police said. “The incident appears to stem from an ongoing dispute between two groups of teenagers. ... This does not appear to be a random incident.”

Two of the victims were found at the crime scene, next to a Jimmy John’s sandwich shop, and the third showed up for treatment at a hospital, police said. Their wounds were not life-threatening.

Investigators have yet to identify the attacker.

A 19-year-old “has been charged with simple affray and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile,” police said in an update.

“Juvenile petitions will be sought for at least one 16-year-old in connection with the fight, and others involved will be charged as they are identified. ... We are aware that people in the area may have recorded the fight on their phones.”

Greenville is about an 80-mile drive southeast from downtown Raleigh.
