Food Network star, celebrity chef and restaurateur, Bobby Flay, visited Bluffton’s own Cahill’s Market on Monday.

Arriving as a complete surprise, Flay visited the local favorite without cameras filming for the popular culinary television channel, Food Network. He simply came to experience the Southern-style cooking that Cahill’s is known for.

“We had no idea, but we were happy to have him and we were happy that he chose our restaurant because there’s a lot of restaurants in Bluffton,” said Stephanie Cahill.

“He really just stopped by and he enjoyed some home-cooked Southern food. There was no filming. He sat and had lunch and he was a really down-to-earth, really nice guy,” Cahill continued.

The executive chef enjoyed Cahill’s renowned fried chicken and complemented it with the restaurant’s fried okra for his Lowcountry meal.

The Cahill’s Market fried chicken that Flay sampled recently won Lowcountry’s Best 2021.

The chef has visited the Palmetto State before, even starring in an episode of “FoodNation with Bobby Flay” in Charleston.

Flay has been inducted into the Culinary Hall of Fame and throughout his career has won numerous other accolades.
