Wife is killed and husband run over as they tried to repair tractor, SC officials say
An 84-year-old woman died and her husband was injured as they worked to repair a tractor on a South Carolina property, an official said.
The couple was trying to fix a mechanical issue with the machine on the evening of May 31 in Inman when the woman became pinned between the tractor and an object, Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger said in a statement.
Her husband was injured when the tractor ran him over, the statement says.
The woman was identified as Judith Ann Ruff, according to Clevenger. A forensic exam was scheduled for June 1.
An obituary for Ruff could not be found online.
Inman is about 100 miles northwest of Columbia.
