Temperatures are expected to soar in North Carolina, nearing record levels this week.

So, how hot could it get? Highs in the 70s are forecast in the mountains and on the Outer Banks, while other parts of the state could see temperatures in the mid-80s.

Warmer weather is expected after many places saw above-normal temperatures on Monday, Feb. 21. The trend is expected to continue through the week.
