Check Triangle power outages as Tropical Depression Helene moves through the state

Helene is bringing heavy rain and strong winds across North Carolina on Friday, Sept. 27, following days of showers for many parts of the state.

With the ground saturated and additional rainfall predicted, meteorologists and power companies are warning Triangle residents of potential power outages.

The Raleigh area is expected to receive 1 to 3 inches of rain throughout the morning and mid-afternoon Sept. 27, along with wind gusts of up to 45 mph.

Duke Energy customers without power in Triangle counties

As of 4:53 p.m. Sept. 27, Duke Energy was reporting the following outages in the Triangle:

  • Durham County: 384 customers without power
  • Franklin County: one customer without power
  • Johnston County: 119 customers without power
  • Orange County: 1,219 customers without power
  • Wake County: 300 customers without power

The Apex Electric Department serves 30,217 customers in Apex, North Carolina. Track outages here.

As of 4:54 p.m. Sept. 27, one power outage was reported.

South River Electric Membership Corporation

The South River Electric Membership Corporation serves more than 47,500 customers in Harnett, Cumberland, Sampson, Johnston and Bladen counties. Track outages here.

As of 4:54 p.m. Sept. 27, no outages were reported.

Wake Electric Membership Corporation

Wake Electric provides service to about 47,000 customers in Durham, Franklin, Granville, Johnston, Nash, Vance and Wake counties. Track outages here.

As of 4:55 p.m. Sept. 27, no outages were reported.
