Air quality alert active for the Piedmont region until 1 a.m. Thursday

On Tuesday at 3:44 p.m. the NWS Raleigh NC reported an air quality alert in effect until Thursday at 1 a.m. The alert is for Forsyth, Guilford, Alamance, Davidson and Randolph counties.

"The Forsyth County Office of Environmental Assistance and Protection in Winston Salem NC has issued a Code Orange Air Quality Action Day for Ground Level Ozone, until midnight Wednesday night," according to the NWS.

This alert is in effect until Thursday at 1 a.m.
