Beach hazards statement active for Eastern Currituck Tuesday, says the NWS

On Monday at 6:59 p.m. a beach hazards statement was issued by the NWS Wakefield VA valid for Tuesday between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. for Eastern Currituck.
The NWS informs, "Dangerous Rip Currents. Breaking waves of 4 to 6 feet will result in rough surf conditions and a high risk of rip currents."
"Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water," says the NWS. "Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions."
This statement is in effect until Tuesday at 8 p.m.
