High surf advisory in place for Eastern Currituck until Tuesday evening

The NWS Wakefield VA released a high surf advisory at 1:20 p.m. on Tuesday in effect until 8 p.m. for Eastern Currituck.
The NWS informs, "Large breaking waves around 8 feet feetin the surf zone."
"Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion," says the NWS. "Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions."
This advisory is in effect until 8 p.m.
